EDCEA focus on children with hearing impairment, including their parents and teachers. Born deaf children first language is sign language so parents are a must to learn Ethiopian sign language as soon as they find out the baby is deaf. The born deaf baby learns the sign language from the parents.
The ultimate vision is to expand this initiative across all schools in Ethiopia, ensuring every child with hearing impairment has the opportunity to attend a school near their home. Recently, many deaf children are constrained to staying at home due to the lack of accessible school with sign language support.
Our mission is to empower hearing impaired children by addressing their unique educational needs. By establishing an inclusive school equipped with accessible materials and employing sign language as primary mood of instruction, we aim to create an inclusive learning environment.
EDCEA is located in Addis Ababa, the capital city of Ethiopia at Bole-Sub city, Worde 13 on Town square building at 8th floor office No. 805.
